Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal is an Al-Azhar graduate from the Alexandria Institute of Qirāʾāt, a holder of multiple Qur’anic Ijāzāt in all Ten Qirāʾāt, and a top-ranking scholar in Tajwīd and Qirāʾāt. With over 13 years of teaching experience, he is the Director and Co-Founder of Shaykhi Academy, where he teaches advanced Tajwīd, Ijāzah, Qirāʾāt, and Qur’an memorization programs.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany is the Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy, an Al-Azhar graduate in Islamic Studies (English), a Hafiz of the Qur’an, and a holder of multiple Ijazat in various Qira’at. He teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic sciences online, authored *Al-Menhaj*, the academy’s official curriculum, and combines strong leadership with ongoing professional development.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is a distinguished Qur’an teacher and professional translator in Cairo, a graduate with honors from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Translation, holding a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies in English. He has over three years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers, translating Islamic and legal texts, memorized the Qur’an at age eleven, holds multiple ijazāt, and has served as an imam for five years.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker and Al-Azhar University graduate in Pharmacy, with extensive studies in Arabic, Tajweed, Fiqh, Tafseer, and Seerah. He is a certified Hafiz holding ijazāt in ‘Āṣim qirā’āt, with wide experience teaching Tajweed and Arabic reading to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is an Al-Azhar graduate in Islamic Studies who memorized the Qur’an at a young age and is currently pursuing his Ijazah. With over two years of teaching experience and educational diplomas, he teaches Qur’an and Islamic sciences to learners of all ages in a clear and engaging manner.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher and Al-Azhar graduate in Islamic Studies (English), who also serves as an imam and preacher. He holds a license in the recitation of ‘Asim Barawiyyah.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud is an Al-Azhar student who memorized the Qur’an at age 13 and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qira’at, Tajweed, and Hadith, and is nearing completion of all Qira’at. He has been teaching Arabic and non-Arabic speakers since 2021, using clear explanations, bilingual communication, and engaging educational methods, especially for children.
Egyptian native Arabic speaker teacher
Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker, fluent in English and French, and currently a medical student. He teaches Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers of all ages using clear methods, and is actively engaged in self-development through work with various institutions.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is a distinguished Qur’an teacher with over ten years of experience, a graduate of Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Simultaneous Interpretation, and a former student of Dar Al-Arqam bin Abi Al-Arqam. She teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, basic Arabic, Arabic conversation for English speakers, and foundational Islamic studies to children from age five and women of all ages, using clear, engaging methods, and holds an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a 29-year-old native Arabic speaker and a 2018 graduate of the Faculty of Arts (Arabic Section) at Alexandria University, who also graduated from Elnasr Girls College in 2014 with an excellent grade and studied Tajweed at Daar Iqraa (2015–2016), earning certificates in memorizing Surah Al-Baqarah, Juz Amma, and Surah Tabarak. She teaches the Qur’an online via WhatsApp and Zoom, has participated in charitable work with Al-Resala and Homat Al-Mostaqlbal Associations, and is also a writer who has published two books: a short novel and a collection of quotes.
Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt
Ms. Kholoud Hamada is an Egyptian Qur’an and Arabic teacher who has memorized the Holy Qur’an, specializes in Tajweed, and is fluent in Arabic and English. With over three years of teaching experience, she engages students of all ages and is currently pursuing an Ijazah in ‘Asim, in addition to holding an Ijazah in Tohfat Al-Atfal.

My name is Asmaa Gohar, an Egyptian Arabic and Islamic studies teacher and Al-Azhar graduate with over six years of experience teaching Qur’an with Tajweed, MSA, Egyptian Arabic, and Islamic studies to non-native speakers. I use interactive, gamified, and flexible teaching methods to ensure clear, engaging lessons tailored to each student’s level and goals.
